Natural Classroom of Forest Habitat

The Botanic Gardens Learning Forest is a new extension of UNESCO’s World Heritage site. Found in the new Tyersall-Gallop Core of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, it is designed to interact and supplements the rain forest to provide a figure of habitat integration.

It’s a pleasant walk and an exciting classroom for anyone interested in learning about rainforests. Educational information is on display to tell you things like the barks of trees and their diversity of textures and colors. There is also a collection of forest plants cultivated for human uses, such as timber, building materials, and food. If you are interested in learning about durian, you will find the Durian Theory exciting. 

As a whole, The Botanic Gardens Learning Forest is home to more than 100 species of birds and over 500 species of plants, and designed to look like a natural forest. 

The Keppel Discovery Wetlands recreates a fresh water swarm habitat. You’ll not want to miss the orchid islands that comes with a stunning display of tiger orchids – the largest orchid in the world. 

The SPH Wall of Giants is a great place to get a clear view of the forest and get up close and personal with the magnificent giants of tropical rainforests. Most of these trees can grow up to at least 60 meters or the height of a 20-story building.
